4、cietyandMedia,emphasizingtheimportance.Europeisestablishingane-InfrastructureandtheUSisestablishingitsCyberinfrastructure.Databaseresearchers(withafewnotableexceptions)havenotbeenveryprominentinthesediscussions.Thisissurprising,asthemovementtowardtake-upofthesenewtechnologiesbythebusinessworldpion
5、eeredintheresearchfieldwillrequire,attheleast,interoperationwiththeexistingdatabasetechnology,andmostlikelyafurtherwholesaleevolutionaryorrevolutionarydevelopmentofthedatabasetechnology,toadapttothenewenvironment.Databaseresearchhasmovedtoincludesemi-structureddataanditsprocessingandmanagingofdata
