4、ningofnasalepithelialcellsandELISAofnasalswabsupernatantfluids.TheperiodsoffecalsheddingofBCVweredeterminedbyELISAandimmunoelectronmicroscopy(IEM).Theisotype-specificantibodytiterstoBCVinserum(atselectedintervalsbetween0and120daysofage)andthepost-suckling(24to48hafterbirth)totalimmuno
5、globulinlevelswereexaminedbyELISAandzincsulfateturbiditytests,respectively.Ofthe8calvesstudied,4hadevidenceofBCVrespiratory(byDIForELISA)orentericinfections(byIEMorELISA)inassociationwithdiarrheaorrhinitis,eventhough7of8calvesshowedincreasesinoneormoreserumantibodyisotypestoBCVand6of8
6、calvesshowedBCVrespiratoryorentericantigensheddingbyELISA.Serologicalantibodytiterincreasesoccurredin3calvesbefore30daysofageandin4calvesafter30daysofage;twoofthelattercalveshadasecondriseinserumantibodytiterstoBCVaftertheinitialrise.Aserologicalantibodytiterincreasewasnotobservedinon
