5、ammalsandbirds.Mostexperimentaldatahavebeenobtainedfromstudiesofmousehepatitisvirus(MHV)andinfectiousbronchitisvirusofchickens(IBV).Additionalrepresentativesofthefamilyreviewedinthisarticlearethehuman(HCV)andbovine(BCV)coronaviruses,transmissiblegastroenteritisvirus(TGEV),haemagglu
6、tinatingencephalitisvirus(HEV)andfelineinfectiousperitonitisvirus(FIPV).VIRIONPROTEINSCoronavirusespossessthreemajorstructuralproteins:anucleocapsidprotein(N),asmallintegralmembraneglycoprotein(M,E1)andalargespikeglycoprotein(S,E2);forthesakeofuniformityweusethelettersN,MandSinthis
