4、DefenseDepartment,satisfiedwithArpanet’sresults,decidedtofullyadoptitintoservice,andconnectedmanymilitarycomputersandresourcesintothenetwork.Arpanetthenhad562computersonitsnetwork.Bytheyear1984,ithadover1000computersonitsnetwork.In1986Arpanet(supposedly)shutdown,butonlytheorganizationshut
5、down,andtheexistingnetworksstillexistedbetweenthemorethan1000Computers.ItshutdownduetoafailedlinkupwithNSF,whowantedtoconnectits5countywidesupercomputersintoArpanet.WiththefundingofNSF,newhighspeedlinesweresuccessfullyinstalledatlinespeedsof56k(anormalmodemnowadays)throughtelephonelinesin
